Rohaan on your radar

InterviewsWritten by Daniel Aagentah on

Rohaan has been on our radar for a while now. With his recent features on a Team Supreme cypher & a release with Circus Records, We thought we'd ask this guy a few questions.

So tell us about yourself man!

Hey up mate! So i was born in the mighty Yorkshire, York to be specific! I lived there until the age of 18 when i made the move to Manchester on a solo mission to pursue a music career. I actually used to be in RAF cadets when i was 15/16, went to see my first show (skrillex / flux pavilion) and quit the next day to pursue a music career and promised my self id release on Flux's label one day. (Controversial i know). 6 years later i finally release on his label, Circus Records.

How long have you been in the game for? Have you always made this style of music?

“So i originally started DJ'ing in house parties and barn parties back in York, then from there went on to study music tech at 6th form. After 2 years of that i went on a solo mission to the big Manchester! Honestly since moving here its been absolutely fucking mental. (Can i swear in this?) I've since thrown my own event which nearly sold out. Released on over 15 labels from all over the Globe and played my first international show last year. Blows my mind the amount of amazing humans I've met so far!“

“I hate to admit this but i actually started with big room house... lets keep that between us yea?“

So we’re in July now... What are your plans for the rest of the year?

“Damn so much man, so i have 11 collaborations I'm close to finishing up right now. The next 3 months of releases are all lined up and ready to go. An EP close to being finished and also a remix for one of my favourite half time artists. This is the short list of what is coming. Flying out for ADE again also to finally meet my Management team in person as they are flying out from America.“

Finally, What are you’re current top 5 favourite tracks?

  • Calibre & High Contrast - Mr Majestic
  • Sophie Ellis-Bextor - Murder on the dance floor
