Label: Apollo Records

Title: Om Unit & Kid Drama - Untitled Works

Release Date: March 1st

4 ambient D&B cuts from Om Unit & Kid Drama that would sound just as nice on headphones travelling on a late night bus journey home as it would driving around the city with the system turned up!

"Untitled 1" teases with shuffled highs and deep pads before dropping with punchy subs, a weaving lead, atmospherics and sporadic drums that keep the track floating along nicely.

The second track, "Untitled 2", reminds me of the Autonomic stuff that was popular around 10 years ago.

A nice arpeggio runs side by side with a drum pattern throughout, alongside blissful atmospherics.

When you reach the breakdown you are confronted by long dark bass tones which take the track down a moodier road.

"Untitled 3" takes on more of a Junglist aesthetic with classic breaks but with a more contemporary rhythm structure whilst retaining the deep atmospheric vibe of this EP.

The final track "Untitled 4" continues with the breaks although much more deconstructed this time around.

With more sporadic drum hits, a moody swung out bassline and yet again more layers of deep atmospherics and sound effects to keep it interesting, this is a great end to a fantastic body of work from two check out on site producers!

Label: Dissident Sound

Title: Hedchef - Foolproof

Release Date: March 4th

Laying deep in the darker end of the Bass Music spectrum, Dissident do it again with four eyes-down affairs from HedChef including remixes from 9TRANE & Xantrax.

"Transparency Illusion" kicks things off in a fashion that borrows from an array of different sounds creating an absolute juggernaut at 125BPM!

For the second track, "White Spot Syndrome", the Oxford born producer drops the tempo to 110BPM and sculpts a robo-factory low-end workout!

9TRANE comes with a 128BPM remix of "Transparency Illusion" for the third track with steppy beats, blippy percussion and a B-Line so bendy it could snap your back!

For the final track, Xantrax is on remix duty for "White Spot Syndrome" and glitches it out and goes mad with the tempo!

Through the range of pace in this package there will be something for everyone who like their beats dark and experimental.

Title: Sonic - 110174 EP

Release Date: March 8th

I think this is the first that I've heard from Sonic since his days as Accidental Heroes and his collaborations with old time partner Silver, and he doesn't disappoint!

Merging the likes of Footwork, Techno, D&B, Jungle & Hardcore, this two part 8-track album is definitely worth a look and will be available to buy digitally and on 2 x heavyweight (180g) black vinyl along with other goodies from the Western Lore Bandcamp page.
